slab slump mold!
for this project I knew I wanted to make a ring tray so I took to pinterest and found this inspo photo, I love the fact that it is a pool ball!!! but once I found my photo I began to create my piece and i used a wood bowl from by the sink and covered it in plastic so my clay would not stick, I then wedged my clay and rolled it out into a slab then slumped it over the bowl I had, from there on it was pretty easy to just cut out the size I wanted, then used my fingers to smooth out the edges, I then put it out to dry as I like underglazing while my piece is bone-dry. the next day I underglazed it exactly the way it looked in my refrence photo and fired it twice.
02
Sgraffito
for this project I wanted to make a cup intially, but it turned out bigger than I expected. I started out with wedging my clay then rolling out into a slab and used a jar to slump it over, I then smoothed it out and put it out to dry, once bonedry I took it out of the mold and covered the outside in black underglaze and began carving out my design. I used swirls and lighting bolts in between and went all the way around the cup, I then tried to shave off some of the rough parts, and underglazed the inside. I fired it twice and did not like it so I gave it to marley!!

coil building (scraped)
for this project I did not have any inspiration but I knew I was not going to make it too big and use swirls!! I started out by wedging my clay then rolled it out into a slab, I used a cup to cut out a cirlce for the base, then used the excess pieces to roll out into coils, I the scored and slipped each one and also used a normal roll on the bottom, once I reached the second roll on the top, I got very mad because it was bothering me then I punched it and decided to scrap it. from there I put it in the slop bucket and gave up!

slab building with darts
for this project I did not have any inspiration but I knew that I wanted to make a cup since my last project was too big, so I began with wedging my clay and rolling it into a slab then I smoothed it out, and used a jar to wrap it around, then I scored and sliped the ends together to create a cylinder. once I created the cylinder I darted the bottom of the cup and scored and slipped a bottom on to the newly darted bottom. I then used excess clay to make my handle. I do not have any final pictures of the cup but I used crystal glaze koi pond, and now I use it as a mug!!
